There was a point in Thomas' life when he began to stray from his parents beliefs so they captured him and imprisoned him for two years to try and persuade his thoughts. After Thomas had finished his education, he began to teach and got a degree of Doctor of Theology. Most of his life was spent studying, traveling, preaching, praying, and writing. He wrote many books throughout his lifetime but one of his books was left incomplete. The book he was writing was called Summa Theologica, the purpose of this book was to show the findings of scholasticism. Thomas was considered one of the most influential thinkers of medieval scholasticism. St. Thomas Aquinas worked and studied to prove the existance of God through reasoning. After Aquinas' death, his studies became not as important to people. Though later on in 1889, Thomism was reestablished as the "leading theological school of the Catholic church." Thomism theology is now the center of Roman Catholc tradition.
